Check-in System

Doors move quickly when the list is on a phone.

Scan a code, mark an arrival, and watch the room fill in real time across every entrance. Built for one hand, poor light and a queue outside.

How it works

1

Open the door list

Every registration and ticket for tonight, on any phone the team already carries.

2

Scan or search

A QR code takes under a second. A name that does not match takes a search, not an argument.

3

Watch the room fill

A live headcount per gate, so you know when to open the second door.

What it does

QR and barcode scanning

Camera-based, single use per code, with a clear duplicate warning.

Offline-tolerant door lists

Losing signal halfway through a scan does not lose the scan.

Live headcount by gate

Per entrance and total, updating as it happens.

Search by any field

Surname, email, order number, or the name on the card that paid.

Add at the door

Walk-ups and late additions go on the same list, not a separate sheet.

Undo an arrival

Mis-scans happen. One tap puts it back.

Seconds per guest, not scans per minute

Watching doors at four venues, the bottleneck was never the scanner. It was the moment a name did not match: a ticket bought under a partner email, a guest added by the promoter an hour earlier, a spelling nobody agreed on. The design assumption here is that the list will be wrong, and the door team needs to fix it in a few seconds without leaving the queue.

  • Search across every field at once
  • Edit a record at the door
  • Notes from registration visible on the row
  • Every change stamped with who and when

Questions

What if the venue has no signal?

The list is held on the device and syncs when signal returns. Scans queue rather than fail.

How many people can scan at once?

As many as you have phones. Each gate keeps its own count and they add up.

Can we check in without tickets?

Yes. A registration alone is enough, and walk-ups can be added on the spot.
